Getting Here
FLYING TO HOMER: Anchorage to Homer is a 45 minute flight. Era Aviation
& Grant Aviation have frequent daily
flights. Taxi service and rental cars are available at the Homer Airport:
(It is a 10-minute ride from the airport to the Homer Harbor.)
DRIVING TO HOMER: Car rental companies are located in Anchorage,
Whittier and Seward but you need to book well ahead.
DRIVING TIMES TO HOMER:
▪ From Anchorage: 5 hours
▪ From Girdwood: 4.5 hours
▪ From
Whittier: 4.5 hours
▪ From Seward: 3.5 hours
▪ From Cooper Landing: 2.25 hours
▪ From Soldotna/Kenai: 2 hours
For car rental dropoffs, call Hertz of Homer at (907)235-0734 or Hertz of
Seward at (907)224-4378. Another option for traveling between Homer, Seward
and Whittier is to hire a car and driver with a taxi company or call Homer
Stage Line (907)235-2252.
Parking is available near the Homer Harbor and is currently free near Ramps
#3, 4 and 5.
WATER TAXI ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES: On the day of arrival, the
standard departure time from the Homer Harbor is 2:30 P.M. (allowing ample
time to drive from Anchorage) with arrival at the lodge at 3 P.M. (With
advance notice, we can arrange a later departure time from Homer if you
prefer, but not earlier.) On the day of departure, the boat departs the
lodge dock at 9:30 A.M. with arrival in Homer at about 10 A.M.
